Burj El Murr is an unfinished skyscraper turned war relic looming over Beirut. Originally meant as a symbol of progress in the 1970s, it became a military vantage point during the civil war and now stands as a silent witness to Lebanon’s unresolved past.
Organized by We Design Beirut, this exhibition is curated by Teymour Khoury & Yasmina Mahmoud, with Tarek Mahmoud & Youssef Bassil, and supported by Architectural Co-Curators Angela Chiesa & Nicoletta Zakynthinou Xanthi. It features work by students from nine Lebanese universities as part of their curriculum. Positioned as first responders to conflict, the students explore how conflict shapes space and form as an ongoing condition embedded in landscapes and experiences. The exhibition reflects Archifeed’s mission to empower students to engage critically with pressing realities through architecture, design, and art.
